Sorry, I know I said we’d have Songbird 1.4.1 out this week – but we’re pushing it back to Monday due to:
- A few bugs caught by awesome Songbird users found in the beta release we pushed on Wednesday
- An office mouse infestation Ali discovered

So if everything goes alright, it will be released next Monday, the 21st right? If so, I am excited.

Looking sharp for that Sweatpant Friday!

Excuses, excuses
December 19th, 2009 at 19:17
Not quite as stable as I’d like. I’ve crashed it half a dozen times since it was released. Please take an extra week if the exterminator is still working on the mice problem on Monday.

What are the mighty mice doing in the basket anyway? Clearly they belong in the bin
And I assume that’s Monday US time (which is tuesday for us). Long time to wait.. 1.4 will quite easily be a huge success.. Just post us to the reddit link and we’ll vote away

Anyway we’ll see this release built with –use-system-cairo for the Linux release so the font rendering isn’t messed up?

The new site looks awesome
December 21st, 2009 at 11:32
I love the new site and the new homepage, but do we really want people to associate Songbird with U2?
December 21st, 2009 at 12:04
Hello,
I can’t launch songbird in windows 7, the nightly builds all went very smooth, and this final release just doesn’t launch.
I did some testing, and I got one profile working, by installing no add-ons. I believe it’s the new upcoming releases that blocks my Songbird from showing up.
December 21st, 2009 at 12:28
I can agree seba! In Windows 7 songbird starts only without the upcoming release adddon.

How does one minimize the library pane (Library/Downloads/Playlists) these days?
December 21st, 2009 at 14:59
@KotW They haven’t updated that function yet… I filed a bug request to format the library pane in the same way as the display panes, but so far, not very much support… http://bugzilla.songbirdnest.com/show_bug.cgi?id=19293
Vote it up if you would support that feature, or suggest that they simply re-implement the old button functionality.
