remaining blissfully ignorant
Friday, May 18. 2007 – Category: OpenSolaris
in shanghai, staying in perhaps one of the nicest hotels i’ve ever stayed at, and had about 30 minutes to kill while wendy naps.
i thought to myself, “huh. wonder what’s going on at work.”
punched into work, opened up mutt – saw the ridiculous number of new emails – and quit without reading a single one.
pulled up the good ‘ol trusty planet and saw lots of references to Project Indiana and other neat announcements/rumblings-going-on.
looks like i have some catching up to do when i get back. oh well. for now, i’ll continue to remain blissfully ignorant of what’s going on at work for another two weeks and enjoy the rest of my honeymoon/vacation.
my manager told me before i left that the first week of vacation is always spent worrying about work – and it was completely true. it wasn’t until we got to Gora Kadan that i finally stopped thinking about work, and i hadn’t thought about it until now.
fortunately, seeing the immense volume of email awaiting me prompted me to continue forgetting. i’m off to go explore the French Concession, and eat my way through Nanjing Dong Lu now. see you all in 2 weeks.
