priorities

i’m getting married in 10 days…

… so why is it that all my thoughts are instead consumed with SCM Migration, the Sun internal misconceptions of the Solaris/OpenSolaris relationship (which i need to blog about), and the Community/Project reclassification/reorganisation proposal I’m trying to guide … ?

sigh. i love my job, i love my work - but jeez, i think i need a break.

we went to meet with our DJ tonight, and one of the songs that we’ve requested he play is Queen & David Bowie’s “Under Pressure”, a song i swear i can hear softly playing as my background music every waking hour this past week.

10 days.

Dude, as much as I like you, opensolaris.org can handle itself without your intervention, especially when there’s a lovely lady like Wendy to be married. Will make sure to keep you in the loop as much as possible when I think you have an opinion to give - otherwise, go have fun! :)

Take a break, do some of the more fun bits. There’s other people (I hope) as capable when it comes to the arguing as you, I would hope.

Yeah, hang in there Steve - speaking from experience, helping to organise a wedding (ours!) was pretty stressful, and while all the preparation was worth it on the day, it’s also true that you can pretty easily get through the day without sweating the small stuff. If you’ve got rings, a $PERSONPERFORMINGCEREMONY and a wife-to-be, then nothing else really matters!

    Steve,

I offer the words given to my wife and me by our officiant on the morning of our wedding.

“Guys, relax, no matter what happens today, I promise you that I’ll get you married before it’s over.”
