thanks for the poop!!
May 10th, 2006 Stephen Lau
this blog entry is dedicated to the woman who was walking her dog by my house while i sat at the window working from home:
i just wanted to say thank you for leaving the bag of your dog’s poop in my garbage can. i appreciate the fact that you looked around to make sure nobody was looking… aye… you’re a sly sneaky one alright! i felt it my obligation to give you a quick tip: some homes have these things called “a second story” (this means a level of the house which is above the ground floor level). it might behoove you to check the window of such second stories when you next surreptitiously try to sneak your dog’s poop into someone else’s garbage can. i do appreciate the fact that you picked up your dog’s poop in a bag (better than some), but if you’re going to go that trouble, why not just carry it back to your own home and garbage can?
i suppose i don’t really mind to be honest… i mean, i throw my dog’s poop in my garbage can all the time - so i’m used to the smell. i really don’t mind… and in fact, i was happy to turn back to my work until i noticed YOUR BAG OF POOP FELL OUT BECAUSE MY GARBAGE CAN IS FULL. and yes, i know you saw because i saw you turn around, look at the bag of poop on the ground, look around you to see if anyone noticed (again, i must point out the whole “second story” thing…), and then quickly walk away.
anyway, i suppose i should really thank you because it’s not often i get to yell out “THANKS FOR THE POOP” out my window to a woman who turns around in surprise and then quickly walks away.
and yes. i know which house you live in.
so if you read this, please try to convince me why i should continue picking my dog’s poop up when she does her business on your lawn.

Steve, please fight the temptation to return the “good” to their rightful owner in a flaming paper bag on the respective doorstep.

I agree with the above, but this is hilarious.
