fisl fo’ shizzle
Friday, Mar 17. 2006 – Category: OpenSolaris
w00t. it looks like i’m going to FISL (Fórum Internacional Software Livre), the free/open source software conference down in beautiful Porto Alegre, Brasil. I’ll be there from April 18 to April 22, evangelising OpenSolaris.
Will you be going? Let me know, and let’s meet up! Sun doesn’t have a booth this year
, so I’m gonna be the wandering Sun guy handing out DVDs and t-shirts.
I’m really psyched to go. I’ve never been to South America before, let alone Brasil, so I’m pretty stoked.

March 17th, 2006 at 15:30Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: “Yesterday, two Brazilian soldiers were killed.”
“OH, NO!” the President exclaims with great emotion. “That’s terrible!”
His staff sits stunned at his display of emotion and nervously watch as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, the President looks up and asks, “Wait, how many is a brazillion?”

March 17th, 2006 at 19:28Very cool, Steve. Don’t forget to get your shots (see http://www.cdc.gov/travel/tropsam.htm ), and when you get them, have the doctor give you a prescription for ciprofloxacin, so that you can knock out any random bug that rears its head. If you don’t need it, great – but better to be prepared.
