a yellow bowyer
Tuesday, Jun 21. 2005 – Category: Football
brief context: Lee Bowyer, a oft-prone-to-violent-tendencies football player for Newcastle United a few years ago was acquitted of attacking an Asian student. he was talking to Birmingham City (another team), but in the end decided not to join Birmingham City because he was afraid of Asians ganging up on him and beating him up in Birmingham.
I’m serious…. go read for yourself.
I don’t even know what to say… I mean… Lee… come on. If we wanted to beat you up, we would totally send a giant robot (that’s what Asians do, after all…don’t you read manga?) to kick your ass. More to the point, don’t you think the Asians in Newcastle would have beaten you up by now if we cared?
‘But when he spoke to Steve [the Birmingham manager] right at the start, his first question was `what about the big Asian population in Birmingham?”

It might be a blessing in disguise for Birmingham. Bowyer is not all that good to begin with and can be a distraction to the team with his hot-headed-ness. There are certainly better options out there than Bowyer.
Plus, isn’t there a huge Asian population in London too? I wouldn’t think it’s gonna be any less than that in Birmingham right?

Dude, what kind of manga do you read? Robots? no waaaaay! Manga characters are as likely to wave a swand and magically morph trouble away or scream for the big hunky bishounen to come to the rescue (though it always seems like the big hunky bishounen don’t need to hear screams to know that trouble is afoot) as they are to jump into a robot to save the day.
You want evidence of this well known fact? I’ve got stacks and STACKS of manga ready for you to read. Nice, pretty, girly manga. I’ll even give you the esther-of-the-ten-week-Japanese-course translations, complete with missing words, mis-translated words, and utterly fraught with errors. What a deal, eh?

Dude, when did you want the first draft of the killer robot plans?
Oops… wrong venue.
